The China trip has been delayed, postpones, delayed and postponed again due to red tape issues on the China side.As you noe I dun like to ride in big groups,so getting the $ worth is the biggest issue here.

However,it is still in my future ride plans and hopefully will happen in the near future.I will keep you updated if there's any progress.

I must admit that I admire your perseverance in getting the licence all over again. Smile Relax, the CL2 will come back in no time.Actually 2A is also enuf for you coz you only need the DRZ SM to tour the world! Laughing

Hi guys,
Mark was right with his paperwork; & Vietnam is do-able if you get it right & pay a bit.

I'm just back from riding Chiang Mai - Hanoi & return.

Most of the trip report is up on GT Rider starting here

http://www.gt-rider.com/thailand-motorcycle-forum/chiang-mai-hanoi-back-t7473.html

We went in the direct, but hard way from Chiang Mai.
Enjoy the GT Rider report in 7 parts.

A few photos for you....

My AT's got 260,000 kms up & still going strong. Never missed a beat this trip.
Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Hey David,

Thanks for sharing the tips.Nice photos of the ride you have there and you are right, the AT was built for trips like this.Even if it breaks down,it's not anything a backyard mechanic can't solve!Cheers!
